yes. The slt was an upgraded alternative package that included (at least for the 2002 model) items such as optional leather seats, power seats, fender flares, human body side moldings, chrome grille, fog lamps, bigger tires, low variety transfer case, etc..The sport design was the least expensive and most stripped under models. The SLT will obtain a quite premium over a sports model.
Generally speaking the "Sport" graphic on a Dakota just indicate it to be ordered through the sport Appearance group -- painted bumpers, grille, wheel flares (on second Gens), larger wheels and tires, etc. -- which was easily accessible on one of two people the base/ST or SLT model.Did that make sense? Interesting guess, but if SLT stands for sports luxury truck, what walk SXT was standing for? Wouldn"t the T in both acronyms average the exact same thing? thus using my logic and your explanation, the T in both monikers would show "truck". However, most of the sedans in the evade offering have an SXT offering seeming to suggest that the T does not stand for truck.
